Meet the interns

This year we are pivoting our internship program to equip some young people who are thinking that vocational ministry could be in their future. This is an exiting opportunity for both our church and these amazingly gifted young people. They will need the prayerful and practical support of our Church communities but here’s a little insight into some of these great young people,

Meet Grace Dalton

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be an interior designer when I was younger. I was always secretly rearranging the furniture in my bedroom.
Do you have a favourite Bible passage?
One of my favourite passages is John 14:6. “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” It’s one that I often go back to, and I feel like it keeps me grounded.
What’s one thing you really love about our church?
I love how people at our church are always ready to help and serve. It never takes long after walking into a service to notice how many people are volunteering their time to serve others.
Do you think people your age are interested in Christianity?
Absolutely! I think there’s a growing number of young adults interested in exploring faith, so I feel it’s really important we create a welcoming space for everyone. It’s exciting to be a part of a community where we can ask questions and learn with each other.
How do you hope to grow by doing the internship program in 2026?
I hope to grow in my confidence with teaching this year. I’m also excited to continue learning more about Church and Bible history.
How can people in our church pray for you?
I would be grateful if members of our church could pray for discernment and humility for the interns and that we may find meaningful connections through our work and with each other as a team.

Meet Ruby Davidson

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was a child, I wanted to be either a Zoo-Veterinarian or an Egyptologist.
Do you have a favourite bible passage?
Not really because I love the whole Bible, but at the moment, I love Isiah 55.
What’s one thing you really love about our Church?
If I am being honest, I love the choir! They are all super kind, and I love singing the hymns with them!
Do you think people your age are interested in Christianity?
People my age are interested in feeling like they belong somewhere. They search for spiritual things because they are trying to fill the space in their hearts with things that will never fulfil them the way Christ will.
How do you hope to grow by doing the internship program in 2026?
I hope to gain more insight into where I fit in a ministry setting and how my communication style develops. I want to explore more of the Anglican church
How can people in our church pray for you?
I would love it if the Church would pray for guidance as I navigate what level of study I should pursue in bible college. I would also appreciate prayer regarding whether I should consider pursuing additional qualifications in ministry.

Meet Jad Madanat

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I’ve always wanted to be a pilot, I love planes and I always travelled when I was younger, so flying was a big part of who I was.
Do you have a favourite Bible passage?
My favourite bible passage is 1 Peter 5:7 where it says “cast all your anxiety on him because He cares for you” Its constant comfort that whatever I may be going through I know I can lean on Jesus for help.
What’s one thing you really love about our church?
I love the people and the family culture. Everyone has been overwhelmingly generous and kind to me since I’ve arrived, I couldn’t have asked for a better welcome.
Do you think people your age are interested in Christianity?
I think a shift is definitely happening for young adults my age, where a newfound curiosity is stirring up, and I think it’s our role as young people already in church to be the welcoming party when new young adults step through the doors
How do you hope to grow by doing the internship program in 2026?
I hope to grow closer in my relationship with Jesus, by spending more time in prayer and reading his word.
How can people in our church pray for you?
I would love prayer over future decisions and choices of the next steps in my life. I’m at a point where I’m unsure of what I plan on doing next, so prayer over clarity and peace of mind would be very welcomed
